My Architectural Endeavor. Day 77

In the next few days I’m going to Pittsburgh. I’m not sure when exactly, but you know, soon. Haha…

Today in art class I was assigned a project -a project I will surely enjoy. my objective is to photograph pieces of buildings, people, urban areas, nature, and various other examples of architecture and infrastructure. After gathering enough medium for my project, I will then create a… Photoshop collage?? Basically, I will skew, bend, twist, cute, re-size, recolor, and rearrange each photo until they all fit together into one seamless cityscape.

I will succeed at this. Wish me luck!

…but then again, who needs luck? *wink*

Optimistically,

Brad

alabastercanvas asked: actually, they're called "candytuft" odd right?
But I love hydrangeas too! They're one of my favorites. :)

Oh, aight.

When you go out to eat and the people at tables surrounding you are all talking about the same topic, you know it’s a big deal. The Japan crices are impacting everyone, but more than anyone, they’re impacting Japan -obviously. Day 76

My not-so-astonishing-yet-surprisingly-intriguing Discovery of the Day. Day 75

The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index reveals which states are happiest. The index includes questions about six types of well-being, including overall evaluation of  lives, emotional health, physical health, healthy behaviors (such as whether a person smokes or exercises), and job satisfaction. From here, all 50 states are ranked on a 100 point grading scale. Interestingly enough, West Virginia had the lowest score at 61.7%. It’s ranked fiftieth -just behind Kentucky, the other state I’ve lived in at 61.9%. Wow.

I’ve given my life to the only one who makes the Moon reflect the Sun. Day 74

Newer, Greener… Not as cool. Day 73

Introducing the new Volkswagen Microbus!

The Hippies shall rejoice!

Pretty cool, eh? I still like the old ones better, though.

That would be awesome.

Inspiration. Day 72

Let’s face it. I need some! So, coming up this week I want to write a story or an essay, I’m not sure what about, though. So, I began to think….

*Thinking bubble pops up.*

What if I wrote about what people wanted. (within reason.) So, I’m literally asking you what you want to read! How bout that? Message me suggestions and I will love you.

Hoping for a creative outlet in the near future,

Brad

intricatebox:

Throughout history, architects and engineers have always struggled to find a form that is simple, strong, and pliable. But so far, they’ve only been able to achieve one or two of these goals in each new material, and this has greatly limited what we are able to do with structure.

A Complex Conversation on Simplicity. Day 71

  • My friend: I think your blog needs some color.
  • Me: I dunno...
  • My friend: Hm...
  • Me: Well, I was just ready to get rid of the whole "in-your-face" color stuff. I like greyscale.
  • My friend: What do you mean?
  • Me: If life is printed in black and white, then the grey area is a figment of our imagination. Black and white are also connotated as simplistic. Therefore, Life should be simple. We just make it a lot harder than we have to, right?
  • My friend: Yeah, but color is more fun!
  • Me: So... that means fun is complex?
  • My friend: Sometimes.
  • Me: If fun is complex and life is simple, why to we like "fun"?
  • My friend: Because it's a challenge.
  • Me: If fun is a challenge why do we have it? Don't we yearn for easy things? We don't like the hard way usually.
  • My Friend: Why are you asking me a million questions?
  • Me: Because you're right. If my posts are in black and white and grey area represents what is not distinguishable between the two, I can put color in my posts. That's where I want people to pay attention anyways!
  • ...and now that you mention it, this conversation wasn't simplistic in the slightest!

archiphile asked: hey you've really inspired me :)
i've posted your message on my blog so people can also read it!

thanks for that really good question

Ace :)

Dude, quite frankly, you have the coolest blog I’ve seen on Tumblr. So the compliments came naturally!
